Bulgaria's premier wave sailing destination for experienced riders
Shabla is Bulgaria's answer to wave sailing paradise. Located just south of Durankulak, this spot offers powerful waves and strong winds that challenge even the most experienced riders. The exposed coastline catches swells from the Black Sea, creating consistent wave conditions.
The spot features a rocky coastline with several entry points. Wind typically blows from the north-northeast, creating cross-onshore conditions that build up impressive waves, especially during autumn storms. This is not a place for beginners - the combination of strong winds, waves, and rocky bottom requires solid skills and confidence.
This spot is for advanced riders only. Strong currents, rocky bottom, and powerful waves make it dangerous for inexperienced windsurfers. Always check conditions and have a safety plan.
